What Is An Opioid?

Exactly What Are Opioids?

Opioids are substances that act on opioid receptors to produce morphine-like effects. Opioids are most often used medically to relieve pain. Opioids include opiates, an older term that refers to such drugs derived from opium, including morphine itself.

Since opioids are similar to Morphine, a lot of thought must be given to a prescription due to it’s addictive traits and possible tolerance dependence.

The CDC has recently come out with some new updates for opioid prescriptions.
